Hi Michael,

A number of Austrian banks have been targeted by fraudulent activity over the last months, so we had an influx of fraudulent deposits from Austria.

As a precaution, all deposits originating from or routed through Austrian banks are currently considered high risk. Unfortunately, we cannot credit your recent deposit until you submit an ID confirmation photo.

An ID confirmation photo is a photo of you holding your government identification card next to your face. Please note that in the photo, we must be able to see your face and your identification card clearly. Also, please make sure the ID used in your photo is the same one which you have uploaded to Kraken separately (https://support.kraken.com/hc/en-us/articles/204061056-What-is-an-ID-confirmation-photo-)

Instructions for uploading your ID confirmation photo are available in your account under the Tier 3 tab on your 'Get Verified' page. Please contact us for further assistance if you encounter any trouble at all. We apologize for the inconvenience, but this is something we must require to help prevent fraud and maintain compliance standards set by our banking partners.

Please let us know when you submit the ID confirmation photo so that we can verify it quickly and release of your deposit. Also, if you choose not to upload the ID confirmation photo, we can simply refund your deposit back to the sending bank account. Thanks for understanding.
